So
you got
a little cutie
puppy in your hand. He looks so cute with his
little sweet nose
and playful eyes. So what next? Naturally,
you'll take
the little one home...Wait
for a second. It
may not be as
easy as
it seems. Being a pet
lover, you have
many pets
at home as well,
and this one
is a
new pet and
not the only one!
In
that case
it is you who is responsible
to build comfort between your pets.
They after all have to coexist peacefully
under one roof.
If you
are concerned as to how your
other pets would take to
their new companion, your concerns are valid
because different animals react differently to
the presence
of an
additional pet. So
the introduction can
be a lot more tricky than the Hello-I-am-Alice kind
of very human introductions.
Ensure that you
give an entire
day to the animal to warm up to
its surrounding and to get accustomed to the presence of other pet(s). When you bring it home
make sure that you keep
him company. Don't leave him home alone. That
could make him
very, very uncomfortable.
Now,
if you have a
cat at
home, you need to be extra careful. Not too much,
just a
little prudence would do. On the
first few times when the puppy and
cat come face to face, make sure that the puppy is
on lease so that you could pull him
clear of the cat in case he
reacts unpredictably. Cats are normally very territorial and tend to assert their territorial rights.
The puppy
must be made to understand early that he is
not supposed to
intrude into the cat's personal space, neither
should he
meddle with cats things. They'll eventually
grow friendly, but
if they do not contact your vet as soon as you can.
If
there is another
dog at home, the lease rule remains so that
no uncalled
for harm is done. If there are many
dogs at home, ensure that the puppy gets to
know each of them
separately and there is no collective introduction.
The little one should not be taken to the
big dog, for in that case the big one will be meeting the young one in his territory, which could be rather menancing the newcomer.
A little bit of growling and sniffing is
natural but snapping and biting are not.
So, if they
indulge in any such
unacceptable behaviour, they must be disciplined. Make sure that your current dog does not
feel left out on the account of the new pet.
So, make sure that your affection towards him increases.
Seniority must be
maintained in eating and
playing. So, when it is time to eat, the new one should eat separately and its food should be served only after the
older ones. The new toys must also first go to the senior pets.
They'll gradually grow into good companions and you'll have a
nice little
happy family of
friendly pets.

Many
of us feel overwhelmed
by animal abuse, neglect
and over population.
The following methods have been helpful in
the welfare
of animals.
1.Leash Laws
Creating
and enforcing
leash laws
is one
of the easiest ways
a city
or township
can begin
reducing the number of unwanted animals. Many
cities may have
a leash law
for dogs, but
not one for cats,
ferrets or domestic rabbits. In
order to be successful, the leash law must
be comprehensive
and apply to all animals; dogs, cats,
ferrets, rabbits etc. There needs to
be a stiff
penalty for people who ignore the law. Having
a leash law creates several
benefits; its easy for
animal rescue workers to
determine which
animals are strays,
it prevents unplanned breeding,
it keeps pets
from roaming so they are not likely to be hit by cars,
it prevents dogs from fighting, it
reduces the number of
cats killed by
prey dogs or dog packs, it reduces the
spread of disease such as Feline Aides and
Leukemia, it helps
keep public opinion favorable.
2.
Humane Education
Humane Education
is when caring individuals or
groups talk to school age
children and
teenagers about animals and
animal care. The ASPCA
website has
great information about how
teachers can incorporate
humane education
into a
classroom lesson. Ideally, humane education should
start in early
childhood and continue through
adolescences. The Humane Association of Michigan website has information about their
very active outreach program. If you dont have a humane education
program, consider
starting one at your childrens school. It takes very little time and can be great fun.
3.
Zoning Laws
When cities and counties
establish zoning laws that regulate how
many animals a single person or
household can
have, it helps prevent overpopulation. Many cities have a rule that a person can only have 4 to 5 pets in a single family
home. Condominium associations typically allow
up to 2 pets. Since many dogs and cat produce
litters of 6-8 offspring, the homeowner is
violating zoning law by allowing their animal(s) to breed. Zoning laws
help reduce the number of people who
breed animals for profit.

Good salespeople
are aggressive, dynamic types. Everybody knows that.
There are plenty
of good salespeople out there. They
have good product knowledge.
They have good selling skills.
And they are likable.
The more
competition you have,
the more products
that can do the same or
similar things
as yours, the more
you need to help
and advise
your customers, not just sell
to them.
Great salespeople are an extremely valuable commodity because they are
in such short supply.
So, what are the bottom line
differences between good salespeople
and great?
Great salespeople are continually trying to better
themselves. They are always
layering on new
skills while honing the skills they already have.
Dont just
be GOOD.
Many of your competitors are good
and theyre doing everything
that they
can to
be better.
Become dissatisfied
with good. If
you are good
want to be excellent. Then become dissatisfied with excellent. When
you are excellent, want to be outstanding. Continue along
this path as far as
you can.
Great salespeople also have
a higher level
of ambition
than ordinary
salespeople. Sure, they want all
of the things
that money can buy, such as bigger
houses bigger cars
and more interesting vacations. They also want the non tangible things that money can buy such as respect, admiration
and more freedom.
Another big difference between good and great
is that great salespeople have
a love
for selling.
Now,
you and I both know that its
possible to make a great deal of money selling without having
any love for
it. So,
whats the big deal?
The big deal
is that at the end of a long career in sales, you have
been competing against people who do love
it. This means that for your entire career you have been competing against people who are willing to
invest more time, and more energy in what they do for a living because they love what theyre doing.
Putting more time and energy into any endeavor
will almost always lead to greater success. This is as true for selling as it is for
playing chess, playing piano or playing baseball.
Imagine working for thirty years competing against people
like that. For most of your career, you will feel like the salmon swimming upstream. You will have
had a very long, very tiring journey, and, at the end of
this long
journey you will be completely worn out.
But, most importantly, great salespeople are great because they want to get the most out of themselves. The big money is a byproduct of being
great. Its just another way of keeping score.
Winner
Take All
Selling is a winner take all competition. The customer rewards the
winner at the expense of everybody else. If you are even just slightly better than your competition, you will earn much,
much more money.
Lets say you and I are competing
salesmen, going after the same big account. If you are only 2 percent better than I am - follow-up, service, closing ability,
etc. and you make the sale, do you get only 2 percent more commission than I do? Of course not. You get it all. You get 100 percent and I get nothing.
That's
why a very small increase in your ability or effectiveness can lead to a very large increase in your income.
Here is the
one thing that you can do to
give yourself that extra
advantage over your competition. This is the one strategy that can catapult you from good to great.
By adding this one weapon to your arsenal you can guarantee yourself that you will dramatically increase your income.
The solution is to study and understand how your customer is going to use your goods or services in depth. The best salespeople see things through their customers' eyes. You must not only profile your customer, you must profile their customer too.
Thats it. The fastest way to dramatically increase your sales is to understand and help your customers customers.
CONCLUSION
Each and
every single
day, we are being tested as salespeople because clients and prospects vote with the dollars they spend.
Show the buyer how they will make or save money by using your goods or services. It is even better if you can translate that into dollars and cents.
Do these things and I can assure you that you will have all of the great
successes that your heart desires.
